Why Tony Ferguson Vs. Nick Diaz Is The Fight To Make
I, like a lot of you, was left feeling slightly empty after watching Tony Ferguson tamely beaten down by Beneil Dariush on his way to what was his third straight defeat in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Just like the Gaethje and Oliveira fights before it, seeing the usually dynamic and electric Ferguson reduced to an increasingly sub-par version of himself was not an easy watch.
As I’ve said on many occasions, Tony has been a favorite of mine for years now - both as a fighter and as one of the most compelling characters to have ever laced up gloves.
But watching this recent string of defeats has made it perfectly clear to me that El Cucuy can no longer be competitive at the highest of levels.
