UFC 285 broadcast news: Daniel Cormier to call former rival Jon Jones' return
The highly anticipated UFC 285 is almost here, and fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to watch some of the world's top fighters compete against one another. However, as any true fight enthusiast knows, having an expert commentator team in place is crucial to truly enhancing the viewing experience.
Some insider knowledge of the scheduled broadcast team has been acquired by MMA reporters, so let's take a closer look at who will be providing the expert commentary and analysis during UFC 285.
The Main Card
For those in the US, the main card will air on pay-per-view via ESPN+ starting at 10 p.m. ET. The broadcast team will be led by the renowned octagon announcer, Bruce Buffer, who will introduce the fighters as they step into the ring. Alongside him, Jon Anik will take on the role of the leading man on the mic from cageside, providing play-by-play commentary throughout the night.
Joining Anik will be two highly respected color commentators: Joe Rogan and UFC Hall of Famer, Daniel Cormier. While Rogan has not yet had a commentary assignment this year due to the international locations of previous events, he will be back in action for UFC 285.
Cormier, on the other hand, will be in the booth for the return fight of former opponent and archrival Jon Jones. Jones will be facing Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title in the main event of the evening, and Cormier's insight into Jones' fighting style and mentality is sure to be invaluable.
The Prelims
Televised prelims will begin at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNews and ESPN+, following earlier prelims that are tentatively set to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET and will stream on ESPN+.
In addition to the main commentary team, longtime UFC correspondent Megan Olivi will be conducting pre- and post-fight interviews backstage with some of the athletes on the card, as well as reporting additional real-time updates for the event.
Conclusion
As UFC 285 approaches, fight fans can rest easy knowing that they will have an expert commentary team guiding them through the action. With some of the most knowledgeable and respected voices in MMA analysis and play-by-play commentary, viewers are in for a truly unforgettable night of fights.
