Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov's condition improving, according to Coach Javier Mendez
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father and coach of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, is recovering after nearly two months of being hospitalized with COVID-19.
Nurmagomedov Sr. was hospitalized with pneumonia in late April in his native republic of Dagestan before his condition worsened and he was transferred to a military hospital in Moscow.
He was later diagnosed with COVID-19, and due to complications from an existing heart condition was placed in an induced coma.
However, last week there were reports of him regaining consciousness and his condition slowly improving; now, according to Kamil Gadzhiev (president of Russian MMA promotion Fight Nights Global), Abdulmanap is feeling better every day.
This was corroborated by Khabib’s other coach, American Kickboxing Academy’s Javier Mendez, who said that Abdulmanap has recovered from the virus.
