Mike Tyson to fight Roy Jones Jr. in exhibition

Mike Tyson is returning to the boxing ring. According to multiple sources, the former heavyweight champion will face off against Roy Jones Jr. on September 12th in Carson, Calif.

Andy Foster, executive director of the California State Athletic Commission, confirmed this. The fight will be an exhibition, and Foster believes the fighters will be wearing 12oz gloves.

Tyson (54) and Jones (51) are not too far apart in age. However, Tyson’s last fight (a loss to Kevin McBride) was in 2005, whereas Jones has fought as recently as 2018.

Kevin Iole has reported that there will be boxer vs. MMA fighter crossover fights on the undercard.
