Cerrone fires back at critics

After Donald Cerrone’s underwhelming and strange performance against Conor McGregor at UFC 246, many suggested that perhaps the MMA veteran threw the fight, accusations which Cerrone (36-14) has aggressively denied.

Hot takes trickled in immediately following the bout, from the likes of ESPN talking head Stephen A. Smith (who claimed that Cowboy quit), to Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who said: “It wasn’t a fight, it was fake … UFC had to bring back Conor.” Cerrone has not given a public statement on the matter, but took to defending himself against fan accusations on social media platforms.

In just 40 seconds of fighting at UFC 246, Cerrone suffered both a broken nose and a broken orbital bone.

Although many thought this would be Cowboy’s “swan song,” a final big pay day before riding off into the sun, the UFC legend has stated his intention to continue fighting.
