Another BMF Title Fight in the Works?

When UFC president Dana White announced the BMF title fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, he was met with mixed reactions from the MMA community. Some liked the idea of making the title official with an actual belt, however, many saw it as a gimmick that cheapened the sport.

It was more of a stunt you would see in the WWE, even Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was involved! In response to this criticism, Dana White stressed that the BMF championship was a "one-and done" event.

Although the official PPV numbers have yet to be released, many believe it was a top-ten event in terms of revenue generated. Due to the massive hype the title created, White seems to have changed his tune.

In a recent interview, he left the possibilities open for future BMF fights. “I don’t know,” White said. “I did it as a one-off. It was fun, it was awesome. We’ll see what happens.”

He specifically indicated interest from the returning Conor McGregor.

“Conor wants that belt from Masvidal,” White said.

The fight would generate record-breaking numbers, and Dana and the UFC would undoubtedly look to make it happen this year.
